In addition to the music awards, five kids from across the country received the “Heroes For Change” award in recognition of their efforts to make a difference in their communities. Each honoree was recognized on stage alongside their favorite stars: Misha Ahmad on behalf of UNICEF; Denzell Perry for Boys & Girls Club of America; Dara Reyes for the National Park Foundation; Ben Harowitz for Free the Children; Mary Dawson for Youth Service America. Additionally, Ellen DeGeneres, The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber appeared via video to present a Special Recognition Award to manager Scooter Braun for his charitable work with Pencils of Promise.

This was quite the fashion and birthday bash with many celebrities, actors, models arriving on the red carpet at the entrance to her house in Los Feliz.
There were many actors and celebrities in attendance including James Keach, Kelsey Grammer and wife Kayte Walsh, Kat Hawks, Robert Frank Telfer, Michael Peer, Kate Linder, Kim Poirier, Julianna Rose, Jennessa Rose, Tenille Houston, Jen Lilley, Brandon and Savannah Hudson. Sue Wong looked amazing in her dramatic off-the-should black gown and the big and beautiful chunky ruby red necklace. Sue never stops to amaze everyone.
There was all types of appetizers being served throughout the house as well as a buffet of food. For drinks, there was a wine room as well as a a tiki hut with tropical rum cocktails.
