Carly Rae Jepsen Claims Longest Hot 100 No. 1 Run of 2012

Carly Rae Jepsen has now been no. 1 for 9 weeks!

“Call Me Maybe” maintains its perch atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a ninth week, passing the chart’s prior champ, Gotye‘s “Somebody That I Used to Know” (eight) for most frames atop the chart in 2012. With a combined 17 weeks at No. 1, the two most recent No. 1 songs hold the longest stint among back-to-back chart-toppers since The Black Eyed Peas spent a cumulative 26 weeks at No. 1 with “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” in 2009.

Carly Rae Jepsen has announced that her album KISS  will be released on September 18th.

This Pop Sensation,  who everyone knows from her hit song “CALL ME MAYBE“, writes many of the songs on her album.
